VERONA, Wis. — A local coffee shop is giving a whole new meaning to the phrase “lipstick on a pig.”
Staff at The Sow’s Ear in Verona hosted a yarn cutting ceremony Monday to celebrate the shop’s new look and invite customers back inside after being closed for redecorating.
“We’ve been working hard and rearranging everything,” said Sow’s Ear General Manager Jennifer Davis. “Everything is on display and it feels so much more open and welcoming.”
The facelift, which took place in under 24 hours, was completed by employees with help from the Main Street Mini Makeover Contest.
The competition started this year and is run by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. It’s designed to help businesses freshen up their spaces for the summer.
