MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin towns, villages and cities with a population under 50,000 can file for COVID-19 relief funding through the American Rescue Plan until June 18.
According to the state’s Department of Revenue, those municipalities are eligible to receive the money, but must apply electronically.
The DOR said it will make payments in two allocations. Fifty percent of the allocation will be distributed by the end of June, while the rest will be sent next year.
Officials said money can be used by local governments to support public health expenditures; address the negative economic impacts caused by the public health emergency; replace lost public sector revenue; provide premium pay for essential workers; and invest in water, sewer and broadband infrastructure.
The application can be found on DOR’s website.
