JANESVILLE, Wis. — Police say a man suspected of a gas station robbery in Janesville overnight has been arrested after crashing his car in a police chase in Beloit.
Janesville Police say they responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Golden Oil BP station at 1840 Beloit Avenue just after 5 a.m. Friday. They say a man demanded money from the register, but ran away after not getting any money.
The man was seen getting into a white Chevy Avalanche nearby. That vehicle was seen in Beloit a short time after the attempted robbery, and police started to chase it before the Avalanche crashed near the intersection of Rockport Road and S. Walnut Street.
The man was arrested and police say there is no further threat to the community. Police say they will have more information on the incidents at a later time, as the investigation is currently ongoing.
