MADISON, Wis. — Madison police say they’re looking for a group of men who beat a man and stole his car from a west side gas station Sunday night.
The man told police he was pumping gas on Gammon Road at about 7:41 p.m. Sunday when someone climbed into his driver’s side seat. The man tried to pull the person from the car, but was jumped by several other men who hit him with a window squeegee before climbing into his car and driving off.
Police say the suspects drove up to the gas station in a different stolen car, a gray Honda CRV with AKB as the first three letters of the license plate, before getting out and stealing the victim’s car. Security cameras caught the suspects arriving at the gas station.
The victim’s car was later found on the other side of town, on the 800 block of Pinewood Court on Madison’s east side.
Anyone with information is asked to call Madison police at 608-255-2345 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.
