RUTLAND, Wis. — A residential fire in Dane County caused an estimated $50,000 in damages Wednesday night.
A news release from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office said authorities were dispatched to a possible structure fire on the 500 block of Danks Road at about 6:40 p.m.
A two story, single family home was found with heavy smoke coming from the house, though officials said the residents were able to evacuate the burning building safely. Multiple fire departments responded and eventually extinguished the flames.
According to the release, the cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
