MIDDLETON, Wis. — Local police departments are joining forces in an OWI Task Force after receiving a grant from the Bureau of Transportation Safety.
The task force includes Middleton, Waunakee and Shorewood Hills police.
It will run from the middle of June through September 2021 and allow departments to place more officers on the road to focus on OWI and seatbelt enforcement.
According to a news release, Wisconsin had 6,058 alcohol-related crashed in 2020, with 2,918 people injured and 140 people killed.
