PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The American Red Cross is hosting a pair of blood drives this week in memory of Levi Linscheid, a Highland man who was killed in a one-vehicle crash in October 2019.
Levi is the brother of News 3 Now This Morning anchor Leah Linscheid.
The first of the two blood drives will be on Monday, June 21st from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Broske Center in Platteville. The second will be held on Friday, June 25th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Saint Anthony Philip Parish in Highland, Wisconsin.
These blood drives come at a time when the American Red Cross is experiencing a severe blood shortage as the number of trauma cases, organ transplants and elective surgeries rise – and deplete the nation’s blood inventory. Donors of all blood types – especially type O and those giving platelets – are urged to make an appointment to give as soon as possible to prevent delays to critical patient care.
As a thank-you, those who come to give now through June 30 will receive a $5 Amazon.com Gift Card via email, courtesy of Amazon.
Officials said appointments are required. More information about how to donate can be found on the organization’s website.
