TOWN OF ROME, Wis. — The body of a 70-year-old man who went missing Friday night was found in Lake Petenwell, according to Adams County officials.
The Town of Rome Fire Department found the body near the 1800 block of Badger Court in the Town of Monroe just before 11 a.m. Monday.
An investigation revealed the victim was the same man who went missing in the Town of Rome. A woman who was a passenger onboard told officials the man had checked the motor and fell into the water after the boat hit a large wave.
The man’s name has not been released at this time.
Town of Rome police and the Adams County Medical Examiner’s Office are handling the investigation.
