REEDSBURG, Wis. — Reedsburg police say an officer was sent to the hospital after trying to arrest someone last week.
Police were called to South Grove Street in Reedsburg at about 1:47 a.m. Friday for a disturbance. Officers say 24-year-old Zachary McDonald of Reedsburg was found trying to hide from them after allegedly starting the disturbance with a woman who called police.
The department says McDonald refused to follow commands and resisted arrest by hitting officers multiple times. Police say they arrested McDonald after “de-escalating the situation” but did not say how that was done.
McDonald faces charges of disorderly conduct, resisting an officer, battery to a law enforcement officer and misdemeanor bail jumping. Police say McDonald also had warrants out through Sauk County and Dodge County and was taken to the hospital before being taken to the Sauk County Jail.
