MADISON, Wis. — The Madison Mallards and UnityPoint Health – Meriter are hosting a Negro League Tribute Night and vaccination clinic next month.
According to a news release, the Mallards will suit up in special Milwaukee Bears uniforms to pay homage to the 1923 Negro League team on July 7.
The first 1,000 fans at the game will receive custom Negro League baseball cards, and a portion of proceeds from the game will benefit the Urban League of Greater Madison.
The Duck Pond will also be hosting a vaccination clinic outside the ballpark starting at 5:30 p.m.
Each fan who gets vaccinated will receive a Great Dane Duck Blind GA Soda ticket for the game, with the chance to upgrade the ticket to include a beer for $9.
The release said there will be both the Johnson & Johnson shot and Pfizer vaccine available. The vaccines are free and ID or insurance is not required.
You can buy tickets for the game on the Mallards’ website.
