JANESVILLE, Wis. — Authorities remain at the scene of a Janesville home Wednesday after receiving reports of someone who possibly had explosives in their basement.
The Janesville Fire Department said officials received a call at around 4:30 p.m. regarding a welfare check at a residence on the 3400 block of Randolph Road.
Officials said no one was injured and everyone was able to safely evacuate the home.
Authorities were unable to confirm whether anyone has been taken into custody at this time, but Janesville Fire said there is no danger to the public.
The Dane County Bomb Squad is actively investigating and assisting Rock County officials with removing any hazardous materials from the scene.
