MADISON, Wis. — Madison police arrested a man Tuesday evening for a suspected OWI after officers found him passed out in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked in a Walmart parking lot with the keys still in the ignition.
Authorities said multiple people reported a man unresponsive shortly after 5:30 p.m. One of the witnesses, suspecting a possible overdose, intervened and provided medical attention while medical and law enforcement crews were en route.
One witness told 911 dispatchers the man was in extreme medical distress, according to an incident report.
Emergency crews successfully resuscitated the man and took him to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspected OWI is still under investigation.
