CENTER, Wis. — Rock County authorities have arrested a man on a murder charge in connection with a “complex and violent death” investigation.
Rock County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home on W. Mineral Point Road in the Town of Center west of Janesville on June 14. While there, they found an elderly woman dead in the home’s garage. That woman has since been identified as 97-year-old Kathleen N. Beggs.
Officials said the suspect, 37-year-old Jamie B. Beggs, had been staying with Kathleen Beggs at her residence when she was found dead. Jamie was arrested for the elder Beggs’ murder while he was in Rock County Jail on an unrelated charge, according to a news release.
Jamie Beggs is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Friday at 3 p.m. He is facing one count of first-degree intentional homicide.
