MADISON, Wis. — The plentiful showers and weaker thunderstorms that moved through the area this morning actually helps our case for later today.
The showers helped to stabilize the atmosphere, and with heavy cloud cover expected for a majority of the rest of the day, that helps to limit surface heating for the remainder of the day.
With the lack of additional heat and sunshine, we no longer have a severe threat for this afternoon and into the evening hours. With a bit more sunshine possible in the northern half of the state, the marginal risk for severe weather still lives on.
