PELICAN, Wis. — State authorities have issued a statewide alert for a homicide suspect wanted for the murder of a woman in Oneida County.
According to the alert, Oneida County dispatchers received a call Wednesday reporting a woman lying on the side of River Bend Road near Highway 8. When emergency crews arrived, they found the woman dead from a gunshot wound.
Law enforcement officials said their preliminary investigation identified 30-year-old Christopher Terrell Anderson as the suspect. He is considered armed and dangerous. Members of the public should not approach him if they see him.
Officials said Anderson is driving a white 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser with Minnesota license plate 187NXC.
Anyone who sees Anderson is asked to call 911 or the Oneida County Dispatch Center at 715-361-5201.
Authorities said their investigation is ongoing.
