MADISON, Wis. — A 61-year-old man was arrested Sunday night after a crash on the Beltline’s Frontage Road.
According to an incident report, Mario Pez Izaquirre was arrested on suspicion of eighth-offense operating while intoxicated.
The report said Pez Izaquirre’s car crashed around 7:50 p.m. in the 4200 block of the road.
Police said bystanders took Pez Izaquirre’s key from him before authorities arrived, but he attempted to run off.
Officers placed him under arrest nearby and noted signs of impaired.
They took him to a hospital for a blood draw before being booked into the Dane County Jail.
