OAKDALE, Wis. — A 77-year-old woman suffered a head injury Tuesday when he was hit by a semi while working in a fireworks stand outside of a truck stop.
Emergency crews responded to Love’s Travel Stop off I-90 in Monroe County around 11 a.m. after a semi truck left the roadway and struck the firework stand. Officials said the semi driver is believed to have suffered a medical emergency before the crash.
The truck pushed the fireworks stand roughly 15 feet before continuing through the parking lot. It eventually came to a stop on the south end of the property.

The woman sitting inside the stand at the time of the crash suffered a head injury and was taken to a local hospital via ambulance. The driver was also hospitalized and later flown to a nearby hospital via Med Flight.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Tomah Ambulance and the Oakdale Fire Department responded to the scene.
