CASHTON, Wis. — A motorcyclist was hospitalized Friday afternoon after he failed to negotiate a curve on a Monroe County highway.
Monroe County dispatchers received a call shortly after 2 p.m. reporting a motorcycle crash on State Highway 33 near Oklahoma Avenue.
Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to investigate the crash. They determined the motorcyclist was driving eastbound on Highway 33 when he failed to maintain control while negotiating a curve in the road.
The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was wearing a helmet with a face shield and other protective equipment while riding.
Authorities said speed an inexperience riding a motorcycle are believed to be factors in the crash.
The Monoroe County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Monroe County Communications Center, Cashton Fire Department, Cashton first responders and Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.
