MADISON, Wis. — MFD crews responded to a house fire on the east side of Madison early Sunday morning due to the misuse of a candle.
Crews arrived to the 600 Block of North Street at 5:00 a.m. after a neighbor called to report smoke coming from a home.
The MFD Investigation Team worked to determine the cause of fire. They found that the misuse of a candle caused a chair to catch flame. Other nearby items in the room also started on fire.
MFD says all occupants exited the home safely. The fire was put out by 5:15 a.m.
