MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the teen killed over the weekend in a fatal crash on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.
Authorities responded to the crash on Lake Mendota Drive around 9:45 p.m. for a report of a crash. When they arrived, crews found one teenager dead and three others injured.
The medical examiner has since identified the teen killed in the crash as 16-year-old Sela N. Atkinson. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to an autopsy, Atkinson died from injuries she suffered in the crash.
The crash and Atkinson’s death are both under investigation by the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office and the UW Police Department.
