MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are searching for a 22-year-old man believed to be responsible for a hit-and-run on Madison’s west side.
Police were initially called to the intersection of South Gammon Road and Tree lane the afternoon of June 23 for a report of a crash with an injury. While investigating, police learned that the suspect approached someone in the area, pointed a gun at them, and demanded he be “driven out of the area.”
Authorities said they’ve identified that man as Joseph Mitchell. Mitchell is described as a Black man who is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 198 pounds. Madison police said he may be armed.
