MADISON, Wis. — Police in Madison are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspected bank robber.
Police say the robbery happened at about 8:44 a.m. Friday on West Mifflin Street, at the Town Bank just off the Capitol Square. They say a man wearing a red Wisconsin hooded sweatshirt and a disposable mask walked up to the teller and implied he had a weapon.
The man got away with a large amount of coins but did not get any paper bills in the robbery.
Police say the man was also wearing black or dark blue-colored pants and work boots.
Anyone who saw the man near the Capitol Square this morning or has information is asked to call Madison Police at 608-255-2345 or can leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014. People who call Crime Stoppers could get up to $1,000 if they provide information that leads to an arrest.
