VERONA, Wis. — The National Weather Service in Milwaukee has confirmed a tornado touched down in Verona early Thursday morning, making it at least the ninth confirmed tornado caused by severe weather that swept across the state.
NWS officials said the tornado touched down in Verona at 12:47 a.m.

After surveying multiple damaged areas in southeastern Wisconsin on Thursday, the NWS confirmed at least six tornadoes touched down. Friday afternoon the NWS confirmed a tornado east of Wales.

The Verona tornado brings the statewide total to at least nine.
