DARIEN, Wis. — A Beloit man has died following a motorcycle crash in Walworth County last month.
On July 17, Walworth County dispatchers received a report of a crash involving two motorcycles with injuries on County Highway M near Springwood Drive in the Town of Darien.
A news release from Wednesday said authorities arrived and found a man on the road who suffered serious head trauma. The victim was later identified as Dale Culver, 65. Culver was taken to a hospital, where he died two weeks later on July 31.
An initial investigation revealed Culver hit the back of a slower-moving motorcycle that was ahead of him, and both motorcycles went down to the pavement as a result of the collision.
The other motorcyclist was identified as Jeffrey Hutchinson, 63, of Beloit. Hutchinson suffered minor injuries but was released from the hospital after receiving treatment.
The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office received help from the Wisconsin State Patrol, Darien Fire and Rescue and Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office.
