BOSCOBEL, Wis. — A tornado that destroyed more than a dozen homes in Boscobel over the weekend was the strongest in Wisconsin in more than a decade.
That’s according to new information from the National Weather Service, which upped the windspeeds from Saturday’s tornado to 160 mph from 150 mph as first reported, making it the strongest the state has seen since 2008.
NWS crews declared the tornado an EF-3 after surveying damage over the weekend. The storm had a path length of 10.5 miles and a maximum width of 1,100 yards.

In January 2008, a tornado with similar wind speeds touched down in Kenosha. The strongest storm prior to the one in Kenosha happened in Stoughton in 2005.
