MADISON, Wis. A woman says her kids were inside her car when it was hit by gunfire.
The Madison Police Department said it happened just before midnight Sunday night on the 6100 block of Birch Hill Road near Raymond Road.
The woman told police she was driving in her car with her 13 year old and 5 year old children on Prairie Road when she turned onto Birch Hill Road.
Officers said the bullets hit and shattered her rear window.
One bullet went in between the two children, but they were not hurt.
The woman told police she heard the vehicle speed away.
Police on the scene found multiple shell casings in the area.
Police are still investigating.
