MADISON, Wis. — Madison police recovered 17 shell casings on the city’s east side after multiple area residents reported hearing gun shots and squealing tires Wednesday night.
Officers responded to the 1700 block of Ellen Avenue around 11:40 p.m. after getting a multiple reports of gun shots. Police said they think the occupants of two vehicles were shooting at each other, based on descriptions from witnesses.
No injuries were reported, but a nearby garage window was damaged.
