TOWN OF BRISTOL, Wis. — More than 100 cattle were saved after a barn fire in the Town of Bristol on Saturday afternoon.
According to Sun Prairie fire, officials on the scene in the 7500 block of County Highway VV reported heavy smoke from two sides of the barn with active fire inside involving several bales of hay and silage.
An incident report said the detached building was within 50 feet of a larger barn housing more than 100 cattle. A house was also within 150 feet of the barn that was on fire.
Fire crews said all of the animals were confirmed out of the barn.
Approximate damage to the structure is $30,000.
The cause of the fire was determined to be an accident and a result of wielding within the building.
No injuries were reported.
