MADISON, Wis. — Police officers arrested a 28-year-old male after responding to the report of shots fired near the bottom of State Street early Saturday morning.
Officers arrived to the 500 block of State Street around 1:44 a.m.
Police say the suspect fled the scene but was quickly arrested with a firearm in his possession.
Witnesses say the suspect was firing a handgun into the air and struck several buildings, including residential apartments.
According to officers, about 10 shell casings were found.
No injuries were reported.
