MADISON, Wis. — The trial for one of the teens charged in the death of 11-year-old Anisa Scott is now set to start in late spring 2022.
Jerry Ward, the 18-year-old charged with first-degree intentional homicide and attempted first-degree intentional homicide as a party to a crime, appeared in court Monday for a status conference.
Jury selection is scheduled for May 31, 2022 with the seven-day trial set to start June 1, 2022.
Last week marked the 1-year anniversary of the shooting that ultimately killed Scott. Family and friends gathered Friday to celebrate and honor the young girl’s life.
