ELKHORN, Wis. — A statewide Green Alert is being issued for a missing veteran from Elkhorn who has recently been struggling with suicidal thoughts.
46-year-old Bret A. Jensen was last seen 9:15 a.m. Tuesday in Delavan, when he walked out of work at the Delavan Post Office.
The Elkhorn Police Department was contacted by the Madison VA Tuesday saying Jensen had made concerning statements about canceling all of his future appointments and “disappearing forever.” The VA said that Jensen had previously been suicidal about a week ago, but they had considered him an intermediate risk, so he was not held at the VA.
Police say Jensen’s cell phone has been pinging in the area of his home in Elkhorn, but no one has seen or heard from him since the time he walked out of work.
Jensen is described as 5’10” tall and weighing about 160 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing black pants and a black U.S. Postal Service shirt when he left work this morning.
He drives a silver 2010 Dodge Charger SXT sedan with Wisconsin license plates reading 441-TVP.
If anyone sees Jensen or knows where he may be, please call the City of Elkhorn police at 262-723-2210.
