MADISON, Wis. — The Sun Prairie city attorney pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges filed after he allegedly waved a handgun in a Waunakee bar in June.
Court records indicate Mark Leonard, 61, of Waunakee, has been charged with possessing a firearm while intoxicated, carrying a handgun where alcohol is sold or consumed and disorderly conduct with a use of a dangerous weapon modifier.
Leonard’s attorney appeared at a preliminary hearing on his behalf.
According to a criminal complaint filed in June, police responded to Ripp’s Bar in the 100 block of East Main Street in Sun Prairie after a caller reported a man who was intoxicated and had two guns was “dancing and making people uncomfortable inside of the bar.”
The court commissioner presiding over the hearing ordered a signature bond for Leonard. The commissioner also ordered Leonard avoid Ripp’s Bar in Waunakee, have no contact with the bartender, avoid alcohol and avoid dangerous weapons.
