MADISON, Wis. — A jet skier is recovering after being struck by a boat on Lake Mendota on Monday.
The Madison Fire Department was called to the lake at 2:35 p.m. on Monday, after reports of an injured person in the water near Governor’s Island.
According to the department, the skier fell off their jet ski, before being hit by a boat. They were then picked up by a different boat and brought to the Warner Park Boat Launch, escorted by the Dane County Sheriff’s M.A.T.E.
The victim sustained serious head injuries, but was able to remain alert and spoke to paramedics and EMTs. They were transported to UW Hospital.
