UWPD director of communications Marc Lovicott says the department was made aware of a physical altercation in a residence hall that happened Saturday night. UWPD’s investigation found that at one point in the altercation, Crawford armed himself with a knife.
According to campus police, the fight resulted in minor injuries, but none of the injuries involved the knife. Officers cited Crawford for criminal disorderly conduct and disorderly conduct while armed.
However, Crawford says his side of the story is different. Replying to a tweet about his removal from the team, Crawford said someone broke into his dorm room Saturday night and jumped him.

University officials have not commented on the fight or confirmed who else was involved.
