MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are investigating after a vehicle was stolen from a home near Monroe Street just days after another was stolen in the same neighborhood.
Officer responded to a home near the intersection of Chapman and Gregory streets around 8 a.m. Sunday for a report of a burglary.
Police said the thief entered the victim’s home by using a garage door opener inside an unlocked vehicle parked outside. According to an incident report, the victim told police they thought they locked their vehicle. The suspect(s) stole the victim’s wallet, car keys and black Volkswagen Golf.
On Sept. 1, police responded to a report of a stolen car in the 700 block of Chapman Street. That victim said the thief gained access to their home via a garage door opener.
