A woman from Platteville died in a rollover crash during the early morning hours on Sunday. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, 22 year old Olivia Zimmer of Platteville was traveling on Highway 151, just north of Airport Road in Paris Township around 1:15am. After an investigation, it was determined that Zimmer lost control of her vehicle and traveled into the ditch on the west side of the road. The vehicle then made contact with the rock face and traveled along that for a few hundred feet before rolling an unknown number of times. Zimmer was ejected from the vehicle. Zimmer was taken to Southwest Health Center by Dickeyville EMS where she died as a result of her injuries. Assisting at the scene were Dickeyville Fire, Dickeyville EMS, Jamestown Fire, Platteville EMS, and UW-Platteville Police. The crash remains under investigation. It is the first fatal crash in Grant County for 2022.
