Today, family and supporters of Quadren Wilson went to the state capital to hand deliver a letter with several demands.
Wilson, who says he was shot 5 times in the back by DCI agents, has spent the past month in a Dane County jail cell. Wilson’s father, Mane Morris, is hoping that changes as soon as possible.
“We are here to get some answers. It’s been 34 days and we haven’t heard nothing. Been treated like nothing and we are just here to get some answers,” explained Morris.
The Dane County Sheriffs Office is in charge with investigating the arrest of Wilson-which took a total of 21 law enforcement officers to complete.
Right now-it is known Wilson was arrested due to a charge of delivery fentanyl to a person who later died and that Wilson was not armed when detained.
However, Wilson’s supporters and family want more information.
“He don’t know nothing, we don’t know nothing. He’s in pain. The police are giving us the run around. I mean it’s 34 days, mentally he’s messed up, mentally we messed up too. Period,” explained Morris.
A letter was hand delivered by supporters to the Lt. Governor, Attorney Genral and Chairwoman of the Wisconsin Black Caucus with the following demands:
1)That Special Agents Wagner and Peskie are charged, arrested and terminated.
2)That this investigation become more transparent to the family members, community and Wilson’s attorney.
3)That the Sheriff’s department begin providing more information to Wilson’s family.
4)That the Department of Justice investigate immediately to determine if there is a cover up.
5)That the Department of Corrections release the hold on Wilson so he can be taken back to UW Hospital for better care due to infected bullet wounds and other health related issues as a result of the shooting.
