RICHLAND CENTER, Wis. — Richland Center police have identified the man who was found dead near a walking path earlier this week.
In a Facebook post shared Tuesday, Richland Center Police Chief Billy J. Jones identified the man as 53-year-old Peter Schoepp of Richland Center.

Jones said the Richland County Coroner’s Office has ordered an autopsy for Schoepp to determine his cause of death.
On Monday, authorities said their investigation determined the man’s body likely belonged to a man missing since last year. Police said they didn’t suspect any foul play was involved in Schoepp’s death.
Police said there is no threat to the public.
