MADISON, Wis. — Madison College could earn up to $1 million in funding to help adult students.
The school was named a finalist for the Lumina Foundation’s Million Dollar Community College Challenge, school officials announced Tuesday.
The challenge rewards schools that give adult students chances to earn a degree, certificate or industry certification. Madison College is one of 10 finalists.
Each finalist will submit a video highlighting how their school serves adult learners and people from other underserved groups. The winner will receive a $1 million grant and the other nine finalists are guaranteed $100,000 grants.
The other finalists are:
- College of Eastern Idaho
- Community College of Rhode Island
- County College of Morris
- Great Falls College-Montana State University
- Houston Community College
- Long Beach City College
- Madera Community College
- Minnesota State College Southeast
- Northwest-Shoals Community College
The $1 million winner will be announced in August.
