MADISON, Wis. — Hot coals from a grill started a fire at a house on Madison’s east side.
Crews were sent to the 100 block of Galileo Drive just before 9:30 p.m. Friday for reports of a fire. A neighbor was spraying the flames with a garden hose when firefighters arrived.
Further investigation found that hot charcoal from a small grill had been placed inside a garage. The coals ignited a decorative wooden barrel that was close by, and the flames spread to the rest of the garage.
Fire department officials said no injuries were reported and nobody was displaced.
