MADISON, Wis. — A garage fire at a Madison home caused $70,000 in damage Monday.
Crews were sent to the 4500 block of North Sherman Avenue just after 7:30 p.m. and saw heavy smoke coming from the garage eaves. The homeowner confirmed that everyone had evacuated, and firefighters got to work.
It took 15 minutes to put out the flames, and the garage was heavily damaged. Parts of the home and attic spaces were also damaged.
Nobody was injured, but the residents and two dogs were displaced. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
