MADISON, Wis. — Dane County has dropped back down to a medium level of COVID-19 community spread, according to the latest CDC data.
The news comes just a week after Dane County was bumped up to a high level of spread as hospitalizations in Dane County rose slightly.
The CDC determines a county’s community level based on newly reported cases per 100,000 people, new regional hospital admissions with COVID-19 and percent of regional inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients over the past week.
When experiencing a medium level of community spread, the CDC recommends residents talk with a doctor about whether or not they should wear a mask when in public. Regardless of community spread level though, health officials recommend anyone eligible stay up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations.
Those who are experiencing symptoms should also get tested, per CDC guidance.
