MADISON, Wis. — Results from recount efforts in Wisconsin’s 2nd Congressional District reaffirmed the original results Monday, though with slightly tighter margins than initially reported.
Charity Barry — who ran against Erik Olsen for the GOP nomination in the Congressional district long held by incumbent Rep. Mark Pocan (D) — had originally trailed her opponent by 74 votes, according to initial vote counts.

Election workers in Dane, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Rock, and Sauk counties conducted the recount over the weekend. Some votes were still being counted in Dane and Lafayette counties as of Monday morning, but that work had finished by Monday afternoon.
According to the recount results, Barry ended up with a total of 21,711 votes compared to Olsen’s 21,774, narrowing the margin between them from 74 to 63 votes.
News 3 Now has reached out to Barry for comment, but the station did not immediately receive a response.
