MADISON, Wis. — Madison firefighters responded to a call on the city’s east side Saturday.
Crews were sent to a home in the 900 block of Tony Drive just before 7:00 p.m. after a neighbor reported smelling smoke and hearing a smoke alarm coming from the building.
Firefighters found that the fire had originated in a lower-floor bedroom, and it was put out within five minutes of their arrival. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The family living in the home was not present at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported. The fire caused about $125,000 in damages.
