PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. (WKBT) — Patients struggling with addiction can now access medication-assisted therapy.
The new Mayo Clinic service will fill a large gap in the rural community as Crawford County employees say Prairie du Chien’s number one health concern is alcohol abuse.
“It’s helping people with any substance use disorder, whether that’s with opioid use disorder, or tobacco, alcohol or really anything,” said Joel Greenya, a doctor in family medicine at Mayo Clinic Health System.
Prairie du Chien is now the only place in southwestern Wisconsin that can provide this therapy through a family physician.
Appointments are available in-person or virtually.
