PORTAGE, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Administration has awarded the Columbia County Economic Development Corporation a nearly $335,000 grant to help diverse small businesses hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a news release, the Department of Administration said the grant will help Columbia County officials increase outreach to business owners and connect them with various resources that can help with business plan development, financing, mentorship and more.
“Congratulations and thank you to everyone for your hard work, your collaborations, really coming together to see the needs of the community and also looking ahead to the horizon to see how you can bolster the community and build for the future,” DOA Secretary-designee Kathy Blumenfeld said.
Money for the Diverse Business Assistance Grant program comes from the American Rescue Plan Act. Since its creation in October 2021, it has given out more than $75 million statewide, the release said.
