JEFFERSON COUNTY, Wis. — One person is dead after a motorcycle crash in rural Jefferson County early Friday morning, according to the county sheriff’s office.
The crash happened just before 6 a.m. on County Highway E south of Interstate 94, between Johnson Creek and Oconomowoc, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.
Investigators believe the motorcycle driver was driving north on County Highway E and speeding when they left the road and hit a tree. The driver of the motorcycle was the only person on it at the time and was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The crash is still being investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. The name of the motorcycle driver has not yet been released.
