MADISON, Wis. — The dog days of summer are well behind us, but it was certainly a dog day in Verona on Sunday.
Good boys, girls and their owners gathered at Prairie Moraine County Park for ‘Barks for Parks,’ an event raising to raise money for the Dane County Parks Department.
Vendors sold dog food and clothes for the furry attendees. Those holding the leash also got to enjoy food and drink, with 10% of sales benefitting the dog park.
“It’ll be used for park improvements, helping support the restoration work here that the friends are doing,” Dane. Co. Parks strategic engagement director Susan Sandford said. “It’s also for fun. Hanging out with dogs and enjoying the beautiful weather before fall hits.”
Dane County is home to eight different dog parks.
