MADISON, Wis. — SSM Health South Madison Campus is hosting a diaper drive this week.
Diapers collected will benefit Babies & Beyond of Wisconsin, Inc. According to the organization, formerly called Pregnancy Helpline, one in three families will experience diaper need. Diapers cannot be bought with food stamps nor are they covered by WIC.
Without adequate diapers, parents make do without or stretch their minimal supply by leaving babies in dirty diapers longer or reusing diapers. Longer times in dirty diapers can lead to severe diaper rash and other health problems for children.
To support Babies & Beyond, teams at SSM Health’s South Madison Campus are hosting a public diaper drive this week that will directly benefit the Babies & Beyond diaper bank. Staff, patients and the public are invited to drop off unopened packages of diapers at the main entrance to the South Madison Campus clinic (1211 Fish Hatchery Road, Madison, WI).
Donations will be collected through the end of day on Friday, September 23.
