MADISON, Wis. — Bicyclists were treated to a meal after an afternoon of pedaling Saturday, as they got ready to cheer on Forward Madison FC.
The Flamingos teamed up with Trek Bicycle to hold a family-friendly bike ride around Madison before the match. The ride began and ended at Breese Stevens Field.
Organizers said the idea for a “Taco Trek” originated from a Trek Bicycles location out of state.
“So one of our stores in Johnson City, Tennessee actually got Taco Trek going down there and this being Trek’s backyard in Madison we decided let’s do it here, too,” event coordinator Rickey Chernik said. “We have a great partner in Forward Madison and they were all on board to get it going and we were very happy with how it turned out.”
The tacos likely made Saturday’s match a bit easier to stomach. The Mingos lost to Tormenta FC, 1-0.
